About the Artist -
Contemporary Australian Artist

Cheryl Bailey is an emerging artist who lives in Byron Bay.

Her greatest inspiration comes from simplcity in life - walks on the beach with Rufus, the laughter of children,

meals shared with friends, beautiful books and movies.

Bailey's work is subjective. Her work examines questions of human existance, seeking a path towards truth, beauty, meaning and identity. The foundation of her art is to see a subject and recreate it's essence on canvas.

Her surfaces are often created using a mixture of paint, paper, photographs, sand and wax capturing a translucent and lyrical quality which translates feelings and thoughts into form.

Cheryl first solo exhibition was held in Mullumbimby at Art Piece Gallery in October2008.
