About the Artist -
Contemporary Australian Artist

Cheryl Bailey is an artist who lives in Byron Bay.

Her greatest inspiration comes from simplcity in life - walks on the beach with her dog Rufus, meals shared with friends, beautiful books and movies.

Bailey's work is subjective.

The foundation of her art is to see a subject and recreate it's essence on canvas.

Her surfaces are often created using a mixture of paint, paper, photographs, sand and wax capturing a translucent and lyrical quality which translates feelings and thoughts into form.

Cheryl's first solo exhibition 'In a Single Breath' was held in Mullumbimby at Art Piece Gallery,

her second solo show 'Rufus' is to be held 3 December 2011 at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina.
